TAF Double Decker

TAF (acronym of Treno ad alta frequentazione) is the first EMU ‘Double Decker’ designed in Italy.

The train was manufactured by Ansaldobreda, a Finmeccanica Company, and It was used by FS (the Italian State Railway) and by FNM (Ferrovie Nord Milano).

Special exterior graphics were created for the units in service between Milano and Malpensa Airport. The exterior design shows an original approach: a rounded front-end matches a square shaped body-work, resulting in a unique and unmistakable look. The interior arrangement and the innovative modular seating system is a striking example of Italian design.
